(Greenfield, MA) — There is apparently a growing public health crisis impacting parks and public spaces in the city of Greenfield. That was the message Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner brought to the city council this week. Wedegartner says her office has received numerous complaints from residents regarding public urination and defecation in a number of city parks, as well as the newly constructed parking garage. Wedegartner she said began meeting this week with the Police, and Health, Recreation and Public Works departments to begin developing a plan to deal with the problem, which the mayor believes may be reaching crisis status.
