(Greenfield, MA) — Greenfield officials are already thinking about the next step for Hope Street once a permanent fire station gets built. The fire department currently resides in temporary quarters on what most recently was a public parking lot. Once the fire department moves, the question becomes what to do with those buildings. The city Council’s Economic Development Committee this week forwarded a recommendation that the full council pass a resolution calling on the mayor to convert the buildings to mixed use housing once the premisis is vacated.
