(Greenfield, MA)  — The city of Greenfield has officially begun its search for a new school superintendent.

Greenfield School Committee Chairwoman Amy Proietti has announced that committee member Jean Wall has been appointed chair of a search committee which will oversee the city’s efforts to replace current Superintendent Jordana Harper, who is in the final year of her contract and will not be returning.

“I’m honored to have been chosen for this, and I will do my best to help find someone all of Greenfield likes,” Wall said.

Proietti said the district is looking into hiring a firm to assist in the search, while stressing that the final decision on a hire will be made by local officials.

“This is going to be a completely open and transparent process,” Proietti said. “You can count on that.”
