Due to a unforeseen generator issue, the Greenfield Police Department will need to switch to a back-up emergency generator. In order to do so, we will have to disconnect all power to the police station, including dispatch. This should happen for about an hour between 5pm-6pm today, Tuesday 04/02/24.
We have met with all stakeholders and have developed a plan that should avoid disruption of services. Emergency 911 will not be disrupted, but our business lines may be effected. If, our business lines go down, and you need to contact us, please call Shelburne Control at 413-625-8200 where a Greenfield Dispatcher will be standing by. Our lobby will be closed for business use during the power outage, but officers will be standing by in case of an emergency walk in.
We would like to thank Weld Generation Services, who provided us with an emergency generator at breakneck speeds, the Greenfield Central Services for making arrangements to connect the emergency generator, Shelburne Control who will assist us with 911 and fire alarm services and the Department of Fire Services who will provide us with a large mobile command post for our dispatch operations while ours is down.
