GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Wednesday evening Greenfield Police responded to reports of an armed assault at Roberto’s Pizzeria on Federal Street.

Upon arrival police found a severely injured victim, known to the suspect, who was life-flighted for treatment, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. A suspect has been identified as Carlos Naranjo, 32, of Greenfield.

His whereabouts are currently unknown, and he may be armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or has information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the Greenfield Police Department immediately at (413) 773-5411.

Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Suspect in Armed Assault
GREENFIELD – The Massachusetts State Police and the Greenfield Police Department are asking for the  public’s assistance in locating a suspect involved in an armed assault.

Today at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed assault at Roberto’s Pizzeria  on Federal Street. Upon arrival, they located a victim suffering from injuries. Due to the severity of the injuries, the victim was transported from the scene by ambulance and then life-flighted for further
treatment.

A suspect has been identified as Carlos Naranjo, 32, of Greenfield, and appears in the attached photographs. His whereabouts are currently unknown, and he may be armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or has information about the suspect’s whereabouts
to come forward.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts, please call 911 or contact the Greenfield Police Department immediately at (413) 773-5411. Community members are reminded not to approach the suspect.

UPDATE 7:13 a.m.: According to Melissa Sippel, Director of Communication & Community Engagement at the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Carlos Naranjo, the suspect in this case, has been taken into custody and will appear in Greenfield District Court this morning.
