(Greenfield, MA) — Greenfield officials have begun discussing whether to redraw the city’s precincts. The idea was floated during this week’s City Council Committee Chairs meeting. The city has nine precincts, all of which are represented by a city councilor. There are also four at-large council seats in the current charter.
By law, precinct and district lines must be drawn based on the most recent Census data. Cities and towns looking to redraw districts must submit those plans to the Local Election District Review Commission by October 30th.
