(Greenfield, MA) — A Hadley man was the high bidder for a tract of land off Greenfield’s Stone Ridge Lane. The six acres includes a house and was taken by the city for back taxes. The final sale price was $270,000 dollars. Not included in the sale was an additional adjacent 13 acres, which contains a number of passive recreation trails leading to the base of Rocky Mountain. The property was removed from the bid offer once residents and city officials objected to the potential loss of public access to that area.
