(Greenfield, MA)  — Some changes are on the way regarding the method by which Greenfield recycles certain items.

The Greenfield Department of Public Works has announced that the city’s new contract with the Springfield Materials Recycling Facility will require some process changes related to recycling. Shredded paper will no longer be accepted, nor will aerosol can, which now must be disposed of in the trash. New items which will be accepted are clear plastic cups–minus lids and straws which must be removed and placed in the trash–and clear plastic egg cartons.

The changes take effect July 1.
