(Greenfield, MA) — A member of the Greenfield School Committee is criticizing the state’s recent actions regarding in-person learning. Board member Glenn Johnson-Mussad told colleagues recently that the recent state mandates that all students go back to the classroom is tantamount to the state placing school districts into “receivership.” Johnson-Mussad said safety of students needs to be a priority, but districts should have more of a say on how that safety is provided. The state’s education commissioner recently ordered all students back into classes by April 5th, though waivers can be granted to districts which are unable to make that deadline.
