GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Greenfield School Committee voted last night to approve the current Business Manager’s Contract for 2025-2027.

The Committee had been hoping to find a new Business Manager, however after an unsuccessful search, Committee Chair Glenn Johnson-Mussad said they will have to do some “strategic thinking and analysis” on understanding why applicants are withdrawing their applications.

The vote was not unanimous though, with two members Mayor Ginny Desorgher and Melanie Goodwin, voting against the motion. In discussion prior to the vote member Goodwin reiterated that the Committee is still hoping to find a Business Manager dedicated to Greenfield.

This was the interim Superintendent’s first School Committee meeting since beginning the job last week. Roland Joyal said he is working to get to know everyone, having gone on the administrative retreat and spent a day with the outgoing Superintendent Karin Patenaude.
