GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — During Wednesday’s public hearing and the presentation of the FY25 Greenfield Public School budget, Superintendent Christine DeBarge shared successes of current school year as she completes her final year in the district, showing that the work they’re doing is having a positive impact on attendance and academic performance.
Greenfield surpassed their chronic absenteeism goals with over 91% attendance, student RIT scores showed greater leaps of growth and more students, including English Learners and students with disabilities were meeting their growth goals. DeBarge emphasized that while the numbers are not where they would like them to be in these categories and the work is ongoing, they are celebrating the measurable progress that has been made in the past year alone.
