(Greenfield, MA) — A total of 633 people were tested for COVID 19 Tuesday in the first of a two-day testing event in Greenfield.
The free tests are being conducted on the campus of Greenfield Community College and are expected to continue Wednesday. Greenfield has seen a spike in COVID cases recently, and city officials say that this latest round of testing could result in a number of new diagnoses–which Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner said is often a by-product of widespread testing.
“You are going to see increased cases when you test,” Wedegartner said. “And that’s a good thing, because then we know who they are, and who they’ve come in contact with.”
