Update: Following the resignation of City Councilor Edward Jarvis effective May 31st, the Council President Sheila Gilmour is inviting registered voters in Precinct 1 to apply to the City Council Office if they are interested in the position. The next City Councilor of Precinct 1 will serve until the next Annual City Election to be held in November 2023.
President Gilmour hopes to appoint a new Councilor at the regular Council meeting on June 15th and must get a two-thirds vote of approval by the Councilors present.
Letters of interest may be sent to citycouncil@greenfield-ma.gov. Note: some residents’ have been affected by the re-precincting process, to view current precincts visit the City of Greenfield website.

(Greenfield, MA) Announced by President Gilmour at Wednesday’s City Council Meeting. Precinct 1 Councilor Ed Jarvis has resigned effective May 30th. Councilor Jarvis agreed to stay in his position through the May meeting and budget season. The vacancy in precinct 1 will be filled by President Gilmour under advisement from the committee chairs.
