(Greenfield, MA) — A bitter end to a sweet tradition in Greenfield.
The owners of Adams Donuts on Federal Street have announced via social media that the business is closing, effective immediately.
“For over 50 years we have had loyal patrons and regular customers who we would like to thank for always coming in,” the statement read on Facebook. “We are very sorry that we could not make this work to keep our doors open. I will miss all our our chats and have so many good memories at the donut shop with so many people.”
Adams closed shortly after the COVID 19 pandemic hit and has not reopened since. In addition to enjoying a cult following among Franklin County residents, the shop was a popular gathering spot for people looking for coffee, donuts, and local gossip.
