(Amherst, MA) — You can now count Hampshire County among the areas of the commonwealth where the threat of COVID 19 transmission is considered “substantial.” The Centers For Disease Control had listed Hampshire County as being at low risk for the virus, but raised the level on Thursday after a spike of new cases in the last seven days. In response, the Amherst Board of Health voted Thursday to restore the town’s indoor public mask mandate, effective this coming Wednesday.
