(Athol, MA) On the evening of Friday, October 13th, five people were transported to Athol Hospital after a tractor lost control into the pond at the haunted hayrides at Silver Lake in Athol. The Haunted Hayrides are a decades long fundraiser hosted by the Athol Lions Club.
Around 7:45 p.m. Friday evening, Athol Police, Fire, and EMS crews responded to the haunted hayrides and the five people who sustained minor injuries were transported to the hospital. The incident is still under investigation and the hayrides were cancelled for Saturday.
