(Combined Sources) The Hawlemont Regional School district is in danger of a “no vote” for their proposed budget for this year. Charlemont, one of the two towns that make up the district, does not have a vote on the town assessment at the planned town meeting on November 14th. This would result in the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education sending the district a 1/12 budget base on fiscal year 2020. Assessments increased in Charlemont and Hawley this year to make up for a decrease in state aid.
