GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield Mayor Ginny Desorgher said it’s going to be a “grim” budgeting year after getting word that another hefty 15% insurance hike is projected for the city, bringing insurance costs to an approximate 45% increase over the past three years. Mayor Desorgher said this unsustainable pattern may lead to some layoffs and other cuts during budget season for Fiscal Year 2027.
