(Athol, MA) Heywood Healthcare is now recommending that staff who have face to face contact with patients wear eye protection in the form of goggles or a face shield. The precaution is beyond the CDC and Department of Public Health Guidelines.

Heywood also announced that despite Phase II guidelines allowing increased access to hospitals, they will continue with their restricted access policies. This decision comes in light of the spacing challenges Heywood faces in waiting rooms and common areas and a concern of a bigger burn rate for Personal Protective Equipment or PPE.
