(Franklin County, MA) The first annual Hilltown History Trail: Museums & Culture in Western Massachusetts will take place this Saturday, August 13th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Historial societies in the hilltowns of Ashfield, Buckland, Cummington, Plainfield, and Shelburne Falls will offer free admission to their museums.

The museums tell the history of the region through historical properties, artifacts, architecture, and technologies. Usually the museums have limited hours of operation but all will be open at the same time Saturday with free admission.

Shelburne and Buckland visitors should expect some traffic delays as the Bridge of Flowers Road Race will be taking place this Saturday as well. Details on the Hilltown History Trail, including museum addresses, is available at hilltownhistorytrail.org
