(Athol, MA) – Authorities have identified the man killed in a two-car accident Monday in Athol. The Northwestern DA’s office says Michael W. Noonan of Orange lost control of his car while negotiating a curve on South Main Street in Athol and collided head-on with an SUV headed in the other direction. Noonan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
