GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A veteran educator is back at her old stomping grounds.
Carol Jacobs began yesterday as interim principal at Newton School in Greenfield. Jacobs has been in education for 35 years, including a previous stint as a teacher and later principal at Newton.
“I had always said to myself when I get ready to wind things down and retire, I wanted to end my career as a principal,” said Jacobs. “I miss the kids, I enjoy the staff work, I like working with families. I’m excited.”
Former principal Sadie Cora resigned unexpectedly in November after three months on the job. The search for a permanent principal will take place in the spring.
