(Lake Pleasant, MA) The Montague Historical Society is no longer pursuing the former Lake Pleasant fire station for a gathering and artifact storage location. Historical Society and Hisotorical Commission member Ed Gregory completed a site visit of the former Lake Pleasant Fire Station and found the building to be “in pretty bad shape.”
After being decommissioned in the 1990s the building has been used for storage by the Turners Falls Water Department. The building suffers from a cracked concrete slab and a warped roof. And without being eligible for historical classification and repair funding, the property could not be used to store historical artifacts.
