(Leverett, MA) – More information is emerging regarding a barn fire in Leverett yesterday. Leverett Fire Chief John Ingram said a Leverett Fire Fighter suffered a shoulder injury and was air lifted to a nearby hospital, but is expected to be OK. Ingram said the cause of the fire was determined to be a heat lamp meant to heat baby chicks. The baby chicks did not survive, but the other animals in the barn did make it out.
