LEVERETT, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The town of Leverett is still waiting to hear from representatives from the Kittredge estate with more information about their proposed housing project.
Kittredge representatives originally proposed building a 400 unit housing development project on the Leverett side of the property in December of last year. After meeting with the Selectboard, they returned with a proposal for 150 housing units on the Leverett side of the property and 250 more on the Amherst side, and the Leverett Selectboard then requested a business plan and market study over two months ago. Modifiers on the project were also added to include an age restriction of 55+ and to have at least 20% of the units be “affordable.”
The Selectboard has since hired an attorney to help with negotiations in the proposal and public information sessions will be hosted by the Planning Board as an opportunity for community members to learn more and ask questions.
