(Leverett, MA) — The towns of Wendell and Leverett are close to inking a long-term agreement to combine police services. The deal would see Leverett assume responsibility for providing police coverage for Wendell, which would include having Leverett lease the current Wendell Police Headquarters for use as a substation for officers covering the area. Final details on the financing are still being worked out, after which a public information session on the new agreement will be held, likely in October.
