(Leyden, MA) — Leyden residents have begun circulating a petition calling for the removal of the town’s police chief. The petition was in response to the allegation that Police Chief Dan Galvis had sent inappropriate emails to subordinates a number of years ago. The emails came to light following Galvis’ decision not to reappoint Police Sergeant Tina Riddell, who was among the officers who allegedly received the emails. The Leyden Selectboard has scheduled a hearing for October 18th to discuss the email issue further.
