(Leyden, MA) — The Leyden Selectboard will meet tonight in private session to discuss a series of controversial emails involving the town’s long-time police chief. The conversation will focus on potential disciplinary action against Police Chief Dan Galvis regarding racist email comments he allegedly shared with town police officers and employees between 2015 and 2016. Galvis has also recently been criticized for not reappointing a female police sergeant, who has since been critical of Galvis’ conduct. Tonight’s hearing is expected to be in executive session, but could be done in public if so requested by Galvis.
