(Hatfield, MA) A lightning strike in Hatfield Tuesday evening damaged and dropped power lines onto the pavement, melting and damaging the asphalt. According to Hatfield Police, the hole was not a direct consequence of the lightning strike but rather was caused by the downed power lines when they hit the ground. Repairs have already been made to the road and Eversource has repaired the power lines.
