GILL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The brush fire in Gill last week had originally been reported as wires down. When Gill Police responded, they found a fast-moving brush fire – the intensity and speed of fire spread, sparked the first alarm. The fire had to be contained until Eversource could de-energize the lines, an added element of challenge to fighting the fire. Bernardston, Northfield, and Erving fire departments provided assistance.
