(Orange, MA) In Orange’s Special Town Meeting on Thursday, voters tabled a ‘loose annual’ bylaw proposal that would prohibit livestock animals from public places including streets and sidewalks. The proposal was formed after the North Quabbin Regional Animal Control agency received multiple complaints about specific farms creating traffic hazards by allowing animals to roam freely. The Orange Agricultural Commission having not previously been consulted on the proposed bylaw, will be working with the town counsel and Police Chief James Sullivan to contribute their input.
