(National) Local lawmakers are denouncing President Trump as impeachment begins in the House. Ed Markey made comments on his social media recently regarding the urgency of impeachment or invoking the 25th Amendment.
“We know for certain that if Donald Trump is not immediately removed from office and the perpetrators of this white supremacist insurrection are not brought to justice, then our democracy will face a far more dangerous threat in the days and years to come,” said Markey.
Jim McGovern is also calling for Trump’s immediate removal from office.
“What Donald Trump did is unconscionable — and he must be held to account,” said McGovern.
Supporters of Donald Trump are becoming more and more radicalized, claiming in part on Social Media that he signed the Insurrection Act over the weekend. A Facebook Group called Donald Trump is My President and many other Donald Trump supporters on social media are calling for the Insurrection Act to be used in their favor. “We will see the military going hot on arrests of the traitors.. my estimate is that the next 24-48 hours will be very telling. Watch for the 1.13.21 date,” the article reads. In this case, traitors may refer to democrats and lawmakers standing in the way of Trump.

A letter from the Nye County Chairman in Nevada posted on Twitter on January 9 claims President Trump will be the next president for four more years despite Joe Biden’s win. That letter can be located here. The letter claims ANTIFA was to blame for the insurrection in the Capitol.
“This was clearly a staged event meant to blame Trump supporters and try to frame Trump so the 25th amendment could be used by Congress,” the letter reads.
Joe Kennedy III, former Congressman, wrote on his social media page simply “Remove Donald Trump.” Security concerns in the Capitol are growing as the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States nears.
