GILL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — UPDATE 2/14/25 – According to Gill Fire officials, the fire at the NMH hockey locker room was likely sparked by an electrical issue. The investigation with the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services and the Fire Marshal’s Office found a propane wall mounted heater that may have been the source. The fire is still under investigation.
Last night a fire broke out at the Northfield Mount Herman hockey locker room on Purple Road in Gill. Smoke was reported just before 8 p.m. Wednesday evening and Gill firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly, however the locker room did sustain damages.
There were no students in the locker room at the time and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire in unknown at this time.
