(GREENFIELD) — An incident in Heath last night has resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple charges, including Armed Assault with Intent to Murder.

According to the Northwest District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 7 p.m. yesterday, Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to a residence on Route 8A in Heath for a report of an assault with a firearm.

Troopers located and detained the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Olin Schwenger-Sartz. The suspect is alleged to have assaulted two males who were known to him by firing shots from a handgun and a shotgun while intoxicated.

Schwenger-Sartz was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of Armed Assault with Intent to Murder
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Weapon
  • Possession of a Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated
  • Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle
  • Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

 

He is expected to be arraigned today in the Greenfield District Court.
