(Franklin County, MA) Mass Humanities has announced their second round of grants in the Expand Massachusetts Stories (EMS) program. The EMS program began last year to support projects that highlight the history, culture, and values in Massachusetts. Some of the projects included audio tours, documentaries, and public events.

The LAVA Center in Greenfield will receive $20,000 to highlight agriculture workers. In Shelburne Falls, the Piti Theatre Company will receive $11,500 to produce a film about John Putnam, a Greenfield resident who owned a barbershop as well as being a fiddler and a square dance caller. And in Ashfield the Ohketeau Cultural Center will receive $20,000 for the Living Presence of Our History project, a panel discussion with Indigenous Leaders.
