(Amherst, MA) UMass Amherst is among the 13 institutions selected by the CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics to create the country’s first outbreak response and disease modeling network. The network will be a data-driven system used to inform decision makers in the event of a public health emergency. The UMass team, working with the University of Texas at Austin, recieved $27.5 million to begin work over the next several years on forecasting and disease-modeling.
