BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — An environmental bond bill called “An Act to Build resilience for Massachusetts Communities”, also called the Mass Ready Act, is in the Senate Ways and Means Committee that could significantly improve the quality and access of trails, including bridges, across the state.

The legislation, S.2542, was introduced by Governor Maura Healey and would provide approximately $587 million to the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The trails that could see maintenance support with this funding are used by snowmobile clubs, horseback riders, cross-country skiers, and other local and tourism recreation.
