(undated) — Health care spending is up in Massachusetts. The Center for Health Information and Analysis reports that health care spending in the commonwealth hit $64.1 billion in 2019. That’s a 4-point-3 percent increase, a level which exceeded state cost control expectations. Costs rose 3-point-6 percent in 2018. Officials say the largest share of the increase was generated by rising prescription drug costs.
