(undated) — This year’s Massachusetts high school junior class won’t need to pass the MCAS exam to graduate. That’s according to a rule change approved Tuesday by the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, Students are typically required to pass 10th grade English and math MCAS exams in order to demonstrate competency, but last year’s sophomores did not have an opportunity to take those tests last spring while in remote learning.
