(undated) — Leaders from across Massachusetts are reacting to the conviction of Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin in connection with the death of George Floyd. Chauvin was found guilty Tuesday on all counts, which include third degree murder. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker says while “nothing can reverse the pain, suffering, and agony of Floyd’s family and friends, the verdict does make clear that Chauvin was not above the law.” State Senate President Karen Spilka called the verdict “a relief to many and a glimpse of hope for more accountability, and ultimately, justice.”
