(undated) — Massachusetts residents will have some extra time to comment on a new bill to extend a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures. The Legislature’s Housing Committee is accepting public comment on the new bill, which would extend the governor’s eviction moratorium for one year after the COVID 19 state of emergency is lifted. Some landlords object to the new bill, which would also also freeze rents for one year after the emergency and create a fund to support owners of 15 or fewer units who have been financially impacted during the pandemic.
