(undated) — Long-term unemployed residents of Massachusetts will be getting a pay cut next week. September 4th is the day when extended unemployment benefits expire in the commonwealth. A total of 363,882 people collect state unemployment benefits, which for the last several months have been increased in an attempt to cushion the economic blow of the COVID 19 pandemic. The number of people who qualify to receive those benefits will drop to just over 60,000 once the deadline hits.
