(Massachusetts) A recent study by United Van Lines revealed an exodos of Massachusetts residents into other areas of the Country. According to the study, Massachusetts ranked seventh in the nation for outbound migration. California, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, and New York were the states that ranked higher on the list than Massachusetts. High housing costs and remote working conditions are thought to be the contributing factors to the high outbound migration rate. Retirement, new job or transfer, and family reasons were also ranked high on the list for why Massachusetts residents chose to move out of state.
