(undated) — No final decision has been made on whether to continue a policy that requires students to wear masks in Massachusetts public schools. The State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education met this week but made no final decision on whether to extend the mask mandate beyond November 1, which is when the current mandate is set to expire. All K-12 students in Massachusetts are currently required to wear masks in the classroom, except in districts where at least 80 percent of students and staff are fully vaccinated.
