(Boston, MA) – Massachusetts residents may have an easier time securing Medicaid services. The Baker administration has announced that it will be filing waiver requests with the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. If granted, these waivers could give the state and its Medicaid program more flexibility in terms of coverage and funding. Proponents say potential benefits from the change could include expansion of Medicare tele-healh coverage, waivers of the spend-down requirement for Medicaid and MassHealth sevices, extension of retroactive coverage, increased flexibility for federal provider payment limits, and an easing of provider requirements.
