Mayor Roxann Wedegartner Declares April “Child Abuse Awareness And Prevention Month”

(Greenfield, MA)   Mayor Roxanne Wedegartner has proclaimed April “Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.” Wedegartner issued the proclamation during a Friday address, where she also announced the cancellation of an April 10th flag-raising for the month on the town common, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As serious as the issue is, the flag raising is really a joyful activity” said Wedegartner in her address.

Wedegartner called on all citizens to help significantly reduce child abuse in future years.

“This is hard on all families,” said Wedegartner. “Hopefully we will be back here next April with a wonderful Child Abuse Awareness Day event.”
