(Greenfield, MA) Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner has named Finance Director Diana Schindler to be the interim Chief of Staff when Chief of Staff Danielle Letourneau’s resignation begins on July 7th. Schindler has served as the City’s Finance Director since November of 2022 and has more than 25 years of experience in local government.
As chief of staff, she will be responsible for supporting city operations, project coordination, budgeting, collective bargaining, purchasing, and implementing mayoral policies.
“Director Schindler’s extensive experience in municipal government makes her uniquely qualified to assume this role as the interim chief of staff,” said Mayor Wedegartner. “I greatly appreciate her willingness to take on the additional duties of this important position.”
Schindler graduating from UMass Amherst with her bachelor’s degree in accounting and human resource management. Her career in municipal government has included serving as town administrator in Colrain, Orange, Deerfield and Hopedale and in financial management with Hampshire Council of Governments and Franklin Regional Council of Governments.
“I appreciate the mayor’s confidence in my capacity to handle these substantial responsibilities in the interim,” said Schindler. “I’m committed to supporting the mayor’s tremendous efforts and to support the city to the best of my ability.”
