(Franklin County, MA) Towns across Franklin County are hosting parades and events for Memorial Day throughout the holiday weekend. These include:
Friday, May 27th:
Sunderland – Parade at 6 p.m., location unknown
Sunday, May 29th:
Whately – Parade to start at the Whately Congregational Church on Chestnut Plain Road at 11 a.m. and will head through the Center Cemetery to end at the Veteran’s Memorial Park with a ceremony.
Monday, May 30th:
Ashfield – Parade starting at 10 a.m. on the Town Common proceeding to the Plain Cemetery on Baptist Corner Road where a dedication ceremony will take place at the memorial.
Bernardston – The Bernardston Vets Club is hosting a barbecue from 12 to 3 p.m.
Deerfield – “Deerfield Remembers” on the South Deerfield Town Common beginning at 8:45 a.m. with a ceremony. Afterwards, a motorized procession of veterans and emergency vehicles with police escort will go to Brookside, St. Stanislaus, Holy Name of Jesus, and Sugarloaf cemeteries with short ceremonies at each. Procession to end at South County Senior Center with refreshments.
Greenfield – Memorial Day Parade steps off from Greenfield Middle School on Sanderson Street at 10 a.m. It will be followed by a dedication ceremony at Veterans Memorial Mall at 10:45 a.m.
