(Montague, MA) David Korpiewski, of Millers Falls, returned home Sunday with his 10 year-old daughter, Mary, from Poland. The three of them spent the past week together in Warsaw where David joined them after Mary and her mother, Irina, escaped Ukraine. Irina was unable to join them on the final leg of their journey, as Ukrainians are not currently eligible for refugee status in the US. For now, David and Mary are getting settled in. Mary’s learning English and will soon attend school either near David’s work at UMass Amherst or in the Gill-Montague Regional School District.
