BUCKLAND, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Mohawk Trail Regional School Committee is holding a special meeting tonight to vote to accept the recommendation of the 2D8T Steering Committee, including the phased implementation over the next five to seven years.
The Steering Committee recommended the centralization of all students in both the Mohawk and Hawlemont school district onto one campus at the site of the Mohawk Trail Regional School with the intermediary steps of closing elementary schools.
After the School Committee vote, the changes will have to be approved by votes in each of the districts’ towns.
